Viggo Mortensen's NEAR-DEATH experience while filming the Lord of the Rings!

During the filming of the Lord of the Rings movies, some actors faced dangerous situations, often using stunt doubles for the most hazardous scenes. For instance, in the scene where Aragorn is knocked out and floats down a river, Viggo Mortensen insisted on performing it himself. Although safety experts tested the stunt in wetsuits, they didn't account for the weight of Mortensen's heavy costume. This led to a near-drowning incident when the current dragged him underwater, and he struggled to resurface. Despite the scare, Mortensen stayed in character and continued the scene, demonstrating his commitment and professionalism.
