1966 Ford Galaxie 500 convertible restoration part 153 painting plastic dash parts

Got the quote for the chrome parts and almost passed out. He did come down a fair amount, and I am not having some extras I took for other things done. The rest is getting done, and should be done in six weeks. There work is stellar, thats why I took the parts to them.

As far a plastic re-chrome, thats another story. It's super expensive. I found two places the do it in Southeast Michigan. Both were close to the same price. I was looking at a grand to do that part... ah thats a NO! I decided to see what I can do, to make it look good. I picked up this chrome trim paint pen, last winter, just for this job. Now I am going to see if it's any good or not.

I did see a video one of you guys put in a comment, of a chrome paint that really shins like chrome. It has to be sprayed onto a high gloss black surface. I might get some, and give it a try, if this "paint pen" docent look good. Ill try the paint pen in a not so noticeable area, to see how it looks. If I am not happy, I'll stop and get this other stuff, if I can find it again.... I think I bookmarked there website.... I hope.
