As part of their ongoing project that involves exploring indigenous art and crafts practices across India, students of the Fashion Design discipline (Level 5) went on a 7 day trip to Barmer, Rajasthan. During the trip, students got the opportunity to interact with artisans skilled in print, embroidery and other traditional crafts practiced in the region.
The trip was more than a design intervention, it involved exploring traditional crafts of India, the lifestyle of craftsmen nestled in the rural areas of the country and an experience to cherish forever. Students would further use the learnings from this trip and translate it into their designs they will be creating for a well known Indian retail garment brand.
