In this video, we explore the untold story of India’s first freedom fighters – the Marudhu Brothers from Tamil Nadu. the Marudhu Brothers raised their voices against British rule and released the famous “ஐம்புத் தீவு பிரகடனம் ” in 1801 — considered the first call for Indian independence.
We also look back at the historic events involving Nawab Mohammed Ali and Shantha Sahib, whose conflicts brought the British and French into Indian politics. Despite their bravery, the Marudhu Brothers were executed by the British on October 24, 1801, but their courage inspired generations of freedom fighters who ultimately achieved India’s independence in 1947.
