Priscilla Shirer & Dr. Lekesha talk ministry, marriage, movies and more

The internationally known speaker welcomed her college friend over for a chance to catch up on life. In a conversation that spans more than thirty years they share major milestones as anniversaries and birthdays in 2024 are extra special. As women in ministry, they have more than days at the University of Houston between them. Being present in each other’s life through marriage, children, publishing books and growing as Christian Bible teachers provides a rich platform for a good conversation.

Priscilla Shirer (author, speaker and actress in "War Room" and "The Forge"), talks about the early days of married life as a newlywed, her traditional wife expectations and the blessing of a husband who is supportive of her ministry. She also exposed the sensitive side of making movies which caused her to feel like she might not be able to enjoy it again after her first movie, War Room. She can now testify to God changing a situation to flourish in a new area of ministry she never considered for her life.

It’s clear that God has been gracious to allow Priscilla to reach millions with her books and movies. The most recently published book, I Surrender All, and her latest movie, The Forge were released shortly after this podcast interview.

Dr. Lekesha B has captured gems of inspiration, laughter and wisdom women and men can appreciate. From her own story of finding love as a woman in ministry, married to a man who is not eager to get in front of a crowd, she gleans tips on how to guard her relationship by saying , "No." The ladies also enjoy laughing about age and moving into the stage of life to make room for the next generation. #nationsandgenerations

With great passion the ladies spoke about the great work of God around the world as they witnessed Holy Spirit move in different cultures. The beauty and privilege of serving in international contexts has provided both women with a global perspective of the Body of Christ and the Kingdom of God.
