Quincy QT 54 air compressor and Rapid air Maxline air line system

This is a video about my new Quincy QT 54, 2 stage, 5 Hp, 60 Gallon air compressor and how I piped the air throughout my barn/shop using the Rapid Air, Maxline 3/4" air line supply system. It was a very neat and clean install and for the most part it was quick and easy to work with. Total install time for me to get the air line system installed is about 8-10 hours. I had help only to install the piping itself. I did not have any leaks when I pressurized the system. I made sure to use excessive amounts of teflon tape and pipe sealant.

I recommend purchasing the rapid air regulator as it was actually rated for 175 Psi which is what a 2 stage compressor produces. A lot of the regulators you will find locally in store are only rated at 150 psi with 1/2" input and output instead of the 3/4" which the rapid air regulator has. I found it to be a little cheaper than the in store lesser models as well.

I purchased the rapid air regulator on amazon as well as the 45 degree angled fittings that I used at my air discharge locations. I also found that you can buy all of the rapid air Maxline products on amazon. I was able to save a few dollars on the actual rapid air Maxline kits that I purchased by buying locally at a rural king.

Large crescent wrenches and maybe pipe wrenches would be very helpful for the install. Lots of teflon tape and pipe sealant. Some drywall screws or something equivalent will be helpful for mounting your air discharge blocks and you clamps. You may want to order or pickup an extra pack of clamps depending on your install. I did use a couple of other random fitting such as bushings to make the connections from my air hose reels to the discharge blocks in the ceiling.
