Cherry blossoms in full bloom, Japanese street food, cold drinks, festival vibes, and stunning light-up shows – it’s sakura season in Japan, and we’re soaking up every petal of it in Fukuoka’s Maizuru Park! This episode is part 32 of our 3-month Japan honeymoon adventure that we started dreaming about back in 2018.

After postponing our trip again and again due to COVID, this spring finally made everything worth it. We wandered through blooming cherry blossom-lined streets, explored the Fukuoka Sakura Matsuri, devoured our favorite Japanese festival food (yes, karaage and sugar-coated fruit again), and ended the night under a breathtaking hanami light show at the ruins of Fukuoka Castle.
