I’ve been fortunate to chase and harvest some of North America’s most iconic big game animals—blacktail, mule deer, moose, caribou, buffalo, sheep, grizzlies, black bears, wolves, and more. But believe it or not, I’ve never taken America’s most sought-after big game: the whitetail deer.

This film captures the story of my first whitetail buck, filled with challenges, good laughs, and the unforgettable experience of hunting in Montana. Now, fair warning: if you’re here for a picture-perfect kill shot, this might not be the video for you. My camera had other plans when the moment of truth arrived, and—yep—it died right when the buck stepped out. Classic Murphy’s Law!
