Dephemerember 2025: 01 Page Tab & Moth-Eaten Lace - Moveable Page Tabs

I can’t believe Dephemerember is finally here for 2025.
The past couple of months I’ve been hanging out for this day to arrive, chomping at the bit to get my hands on the list of prompts so I can get my creative mojo on. I’ll admit I was taken a little aback with the change in focus, but it didn’t take long for me to adjust my thinking to the new idea of “Components” and how to highlight this idea in my creating, because this is how I’ve been creating my ephemera for a while now.
So back to the start of Dephemerember… it’s here!
The overall theme of Dephemerember this year is “Snacks’n’Stash”. Although the main focus is obviously creating pieces of ephemera for our stash, there will be a few snacks making a brief appearance. My lovely swap partners, Robyn and Tanja, have generously provided some snacks and teas that I will try. I tell you this for two reasons, A) I will end up with a nice little supply of tea bags, tea bag tags and tea bag packets at the end of the month, and, B) December is the start of Summer here in New Zealand and my craft studio gets seriously hot so I need to keep up my hydration as my mouth gets dry with all the talking I do.
I need to be honest with you and admit that I rarely use page tabs. I have nothing against them as a piece of ephemera; I think they are useful and can look quite cute. What I don’t like about them is their inflexibility when it comes to location. What if I don’t like the page tab where it is? What if I actually want it two pages later? Or earlier? What if I want to put the tab at the bottom of the page, but it’s on the top of the page? Or vice versa?
I seek to answer all these questions with my response to this prompt challenge, and I think I’ve come up with a perfect answer for you; and even better it can be broken down into three simple steps that I think you are going to love.
Step 1: Build-a-Base
Step 2: Create-a-Space
Step 3: Dress-the-Face
Doesn’t it all sound to simple, yet so exciting and inspiring.
This prompt response is the first example of this simple process in practice.
