26 February - Day of Khodjaly Genocide
Since 1992 Azerbaijani people mark one of tragic days of its new history -- day of Khodjaly genocide.
At night from February 25 to 26, 1992, the Armenian armed forces with active support of the Russian Army's 366th regiment occupied the Azerbaijani town of Khojaly. The occupation of Khojaly was followed with unprecedented brutalities against the Azerbaijani civilian population.
613 people were killed,
among them 106 women, 56 children.
487 people were mutilated
8 families were totally slaightered
25 children lost both parents
130 children lost one parents
59 people were killed with special brutality
more than 1000 citizens became disabled
1275 people were captured and took as a hostage,
fortune of 150 hostages (including 68 women and 26 children) is still unknown.
The Milli Medjlis of Azerbaijan declared the 26th of February as the "The Day of Khodjaly Genocide". Every year this day on 17.00 the Azerbaijani people makes mention of victims of Khodjaly genocide.

С 1992 года 26 февраля Азербайджанский народ отмечает один из самых ужасных, трагических дней своей новой истории -- Ходжалинский геноцид.
В ночь с 25 на 26 февраля 1992 года армянские вооруженные формирования при поддержке тяжелой техники и личного состава 366-го мотострелкового полка бывшего СССР осуществили захват города Ходжалы. Штурм города был произведен немыслимой жестокостью и бесчеловечностью.
613 были убиты,
из них 106 женщин, 56 малолетних детей.
487 человек были покалечены
8 семей были полностью уничтожены
25 малолетних детей потеряли обоих родителей
130 детей потеряли одного родителя
59 были убиты с особой жестокостью
более 1000 горожан остались инвалидами
1275 человек взяты в заложники и в плен,
судьба 150 пленных (включая 68 женщин и 26 детей) до сих пор неизвестна. Милли Меджлис Азербайджана объявил 26 февраля «Днем Ходжалинского геноцида». Каждый год в этот день в 17.00 Азербайджанский народ поминает жертв Ходжалинского геноцида.
