The Type 05 – Academic Research Travel Capsule.
After the success of the Type 04 high echelon academics wanted to commission TT capsules for research. After a strict policy of non-interference was established by the School for ‘Off-World Studies’ (later called the Celestial Intervention Agency) Type 05 was developed. It was claimed that when ‘deployed’ this model could sit on the outer rim of a solar system and observe the lifecycle of an insect on one of the inner planets. Although the flight deck was small it was designed to carry between 2-4 Timelord researchers in relative comfort for short research trips.
