Before I Could Fix the Transmission… the Engine Started Misfiring

I’ve owned this 2009 RAM 1500 for a long time — and at over 202,000 miles, it's definitely been through some things. About 1.5 years ago, the transmission failed, and a few months ago I finally decided to tackle the repair.

But before I could even get to the transmission work, the engine started running rough — misfiring on all cylinders and refusing to idle for more than a few minutes. With limited engine codes to go on, I started throwing parts at it and working through the possibilities:

Replaced all 16 spark plugs and coil packs ✅
Swapped out the fuel injectors ✅
Dropped the gas tank to install a new fuel pump ✅
Drained and replaced all the old fuel ✅

Just yesterday I made a breakthrough: with the Manifold Air Pressure (MAP) sensor disconnected, the engine actually runs much better. That points to something wrong in the air/fuel management system — more troubleshooting to come soon.
