U.S. Marines and Sailors with Task Force Southwest have assisted their Afghan National Defense and Security Force counterparts throughout Helmand province, Afghanistan through expeditionary advising packages. The EAP allows teams of advisors to assist Afghan forces at the brigade and kandak levels, while also providing invaluable support to ANDSF operations against insurgency. As part of the new South Asia strategy, coalition forces in Afghanistan will continue to enhance their Afghan partners' capabilities at lower levels.
