Initially, no reports of cash were made, but days later, claims surfaced that sacks filled with currency notes were found. Justice Verma denied these allegations, calling them a conspiracy against him.

As the controversy escalated, Delhi High Court Chief Justice DK Upadhyay conducted an internal inquiry and confirmed to the Supreme Court that cash was indeed stored in the room at the time of the fire. Following this, Verma was transferred to the Allahabad High Court, initially termed as a routine transfer. However, the Allahabad High Court refused to assign him any judicial work.

The Supreme Court has now formed a three-judge committee to investigate the matter thoroughly. This incident has raised serious questions about corruption in the higher judiciary, sparking public outrage.

The video also highlights the alarming statistics revealed by the Union Law Minister, who stated in Parliament that in 2022 alone, there were 1,600 corruption complaints against High Court and Supreme Court judges.
