Hi, Welcome to Deaf Talks News!!!
India reached an important target in July 2025. What is that? Let’s see
Now, 50% of India’s total electricity comes from clean, non-polluting energy sources as per the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy
This energy comes from solar power (sun), wind power (air), hydro power (water from dams), and nuclear power.
These types of energy do not make smoke, do not create pollution.
This is a big step for saving nature and protecting the environment.
Does it happen immediately? No
India planned to reach this target by the year 2030.
But India finished early in 2025. This is 5 years early and a very good achievement.
India now has 484.8 gigawatts (GW) total electricity capacity.
Out of this total, 242.8 gigawatts (GW) is from clean, non-fossil energy sources. This is exactly 50.08%.
This is the first time in India’s history that clean energy is equal to coal and petrol energy.
The government made this official announcement in July 2025.
Why is Using Clean energy important?
Before, India used more coal and petrol (called fossil fuel). These give electricity but cause pollution.
Coal and petrol create dirty smoke, bad air, and make climate change worse.
In 2015, India promised the world (Paris Agreement):
1. India will make 50% clean energy by the year 2030.”
2. India said this to help stop climate change and protect nature.
In 2022, India changed the promise, made it stronger: 50% clean energy by 2030.
Now, in 2025, India has already reached this goal. This is faster than expected.
Why government want to do this? what is the motive?
The government wants to protect the environment and stop pollution.
Clean energy helps give fresh air, good health to people.
India wants to become strong and independent in energy
More clean energy helps farmers, villages, and people living in small towns through solar panels, wind power.
India wants to reduce petrol, coal use and import less fuel from other countries.
India wants to show the world “India is serious about saving the Earth.”
What do people say about this achievement?
Prime Minister Modi shared on social media, “India is leading green transformation. Clean energy is good for people and nature.”
Environment experts say, “Good achievement. Next step is to make sure we use more renewable power daily, not just build it.”
People feel happy and positive. They hope for better air, less pollution, and a safer future for children.
Clean energy gives more jobs too — solar, wind, and battery industries are growing fast.
Are you also doing your part to help make a change in climate change? What is that?
