Prof. John Gallaugher offers a brief demo of using Microsoft CoPilot 365 to "Vibe Code" a simple interactive web page. The exercise is designed for new students who have no coding experience. CoPilot was chosen, not because it is the best for vibe coding, but because many universities offer a secure, private version of copilot to students, so this is often a first-choice for faculty exercises. By the end of the exercise, students will have a web page that solves the age-old challenge of "What Should We Have for Dinner?" CoPilot will create html, css, and JavaScript files, and will give step-by-step instructions on posting these to GitHub, making a version accessible to all via GitHub Pages. This also makes this a great first-exercise in getting code up on GitHub and in using GitHub Pages.
The exercise is offered as part of the "Hands On with AI" chapter in Prof. Gallaugher's best-selling Information Systems Textbook: "A Manger's Guide to Harnessing Technology," Published by FlatWorld.
