When I was just beginning my journey to become an animation artist, I was often told to go to coffee houses and sketch people. But it wasn't until after a decade or so I really began to focus on capturing the specifics of a person I was looking at. Focusing on posture, creating that person as a character and at all costs... make that person have the art and feel of making them real (on your sketchbook page).

Memory sketching enriches your shape design, character understanding and is a very healthy way to exercise your mind after/before/during work if need be.
