Live at The Sun Rose captures Jonathan Pinson’s Boom Clap in full force—original, groove-rich, and emotionally resonant. Recorded live in February 2024 at the Sun Rose in West Hollywood, this release is a raw and refined portrait of a band in motion.
Jonathan Pinson is a drummer, composer, and bandleader known for his dynamic blend of groove, introspection, and genre-fluid jazz. A frequent collaborator with Kamasi Washington, Braxton Cook, and Ambrose Akinmusire, Pinson leads Boom Clap, a project that bridges soulful rhythm with spiritual exploration. He currently teaches at CalArts and continues to shape the sound of contemporary jazz from behind the kit.
