The second part for October 14 continues in Inuyama, where I visit one of Japan's little-known national treasures - at least to foreigners - Urakuen (有楽苑). Near the Meitetsu Hotel, Urakuen was built four centuries ago. The tea house Jo-an is on the grounds, where I enjoyed hot matcha (green tea) and a confection. I then return to Nagoya Station and, after checking in at my hotel, head to the underground shopping mall for dinner at Ebidote Shokudo to indulge in a very, very long shrimp. After that experience is over, one more surprise is in store to round out my day.
