Bernard Hinault works hard for Greg LeMond in this, the first race appearance of the Badger. The roster includes the East Germans. Davis Phinney complains about Hinault sitting on then sprinting for the win, but I think he was right as LeMond his teammate was in the leader's jersey. Coming of a wheel for the win was normal for Phinney; I can't remember him ever soloing in for the victory in the 10 years I raced with him or watched his races.
