Commissioned by Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay in 2022 as part of In New Light – A Season of Commissions, Illuminations was a celebratory concert by the Singapore Symphony Orchestra (SSO) , for Esplanade’s 20th anniversary in 2022. A show full of wonder and orchestral feats, the concert featured the Singapore Symphony and Choruses and saw award-winning homegrown conductor Lien Boon Hua lead the SSO for the first time in a full-length performance at Esplanade Concert Hall.
This recording is part of Sounds Like Home, one of the themed collections in Replay – Screenings from the Esplanade Archives.
Replay is the first extensive release from Esplanade’s rich archives, supplemented by docufilms and recordings from longstanding artistic collaborators. Featuring over 30 full recordings, films and excerpts of performances, across nine thematic collections. Available on Esplanade Offstage from 10 July 2025 to 31 March 2026.
