Edmund Fitzgerald Shipwreck - Whitefish Point, MI. | EP 6

Well worth the long out and back drive. The Great Lakes Shipwreck Museum at Whitefish Point, Michigan, honors those who perished while plying the mighty waters Lake Superior, including the fabled cargo ship, The Edmund Fitzgerald.

The famous wreck was immortalized in song several decades ago by Canadian singer/songwriter, the late Gordon Lightfoot. We wanted to include the original song, but copyright stuff is keeping that from happening.

Looking off the point to the choppy waters of the vast lake gave us pause and reflection of those brave souls who went down with the huge ship that stormy night.

Putting more than 2,200 miles on the van and spending nearly a month traveling along the Upper Midwest’s Great Lakes coastline wasn’t enough time to see everything!

This fall we drove our Transit van and camped throughout Wisconsin’s Door County and Michigan’s beautiful Upper Peninsula region, soaking in all the incredible Fall colors.
