Emad U Deen: From Almighty Saint to Islam (Part Two)

Episode 2 of our interview series is with the remarkably intelligent Emad U Deen, author of "Thee Jerusalem Gangster". A Palestinian immigant, Emad immigrated to Chicago in 1978 eventually settling in Back of the Yards.

Emad joined the Almighty Saints and grew up in a much different time for the South Side than today. Over the course of a nearly three hour conversation he lays out a rough map of Back of the Yards, talks attending Kelly High School, the Folks & People alliances, the dope game, the state and federal pens, finding Islam and so much more. The knowledge he graced us with is priceless, with names and dates for the foundations of numerous hoods in Chicago. This is one we will remember as foundational to the channel.

Part two dives into a lot of history including the foundations of the SGDz on 88th & Houston, the Saints "Renegade" standing on the streets, running "Folks" in the joint, the foundations of numerous blocks of different mobs, etc.
