This 532 amplifier came out of a Wurlitzer 2204 jukebox. This video series walks through the steps on how to troubleshoot and test a Wurlitzer 532 Tube Amplifier that was not working. This first part focuses on testing the power supply section of the circuit. Specifically, how the power supply works, how to test it, and how to get it running outside of the Jukebox and on the bench.
Part 2 focuses on how vacuum amplification tubes work, the purpose of coupling capacitors, how to safely setup the tube amplifier on the bench for testing using an isolation transformer, how to inject a signal and use an oscilloscope and multi-meter for tracing and analysis. Part 3 focuses on the phono input section and discusses the signal is generated from the cobra pickup and how the Automatic Volume Control (AVC) adjusts the volume of different record cuts. We then trace an input signal to the back half of the amplifier and verify it is getting amplified properly in the phono pre-amp section.
