“Wake Up” is a pretty direct take on where things are politically, questioning whether we’ve already gone too far. I think the overall sound and lyrics were subconsciously influenced by For Against. Echelons is one of my favorite records, and on that album in particular, Jeffrey Runnings kept things simple, honest, and a bit cynical. I think that made its way into this track.
