A belief that if you’re reading novels, fantasy, thrillers, or emotional stories, you’re somehow wasting time, not learning, not growing, not being “serious” enough. In this video, I talk about why that shame exists, why it’s misguided, and why fiction isn’t escapism, it’s one of the most human ways we understand meaning, emotion, and ourselves. Fiction doesn’t teach facts. It teaches experience. And in a world obsessed with productivity and optimization, choosing to feel might be the most radical thing you can do.
