Ice Breaker at SeaWorld Orlando is a Premier Rides launch coaster that sends riders racing both backward and forward across a 1,900-foot track at speeds up to 52 mph. Opened on February 18, 2022, Ice Breaker became SeaWorld’s first launch coaster, offering a fresh new thrill that perfectly complements the park’s growing collection of world-class attractions. The ride features four separate launches, a near-vertical 93-foot spike, multiple airtime hills, and a top hat element that keeps the pace relentless from start to finish.

Riders begin their journey on a switch track before being launched backward up a steep spike, then forward into a hill, and once again backward to build speed before the final launch propels the train up and over the tophat. From there, Ice Breaker dives through sharp turns, banked corners, and quick transitions, creating an exciting yet smooth experience suitable for thrill-seekers and families alike. In 2023, SeaWorld modified the ride’s restraints and lowered the height requirement to 48 inches, allowing more guests to enjoy its fast-paced adventure.

Located in the Sea of Power area of SeaWorld Orlando, Ice Breaker sits alongside major attractions such as Pipeline: The Surf Coaster and Expedition Odyssey, the park’s groundbreaking Arctic flying theater that replaced the former Wild Arctic attraction in 2025. This area celebrates strength, energy, and the spirit of exploration, reflected in Ice Breaker’s Arctic theme and ship-inspired name—a tribute to vessels that cut through frozen seas on daring expeditions.

SeaWorld Orlando first opened in 1973 and has since evolved from marine life exhibits into one of Florida’s most thrilling and diverse theme parks. The park features an impressive collection of coasters, including Mako, Kraken, Manta, Pipeline, and Penguin Trek, as well as immersive themed lands such as Sesame Street Land and Sea of Mystery, home to Infinity Falls. Ice Breaker represents the next generation of SeaWorld’s attractions—bridging the gap between family thrills and high-speed excitement with innovative launch technology and an Arctic-inspired storyline.
