In December 2024, I did a 5 day trip across Nagano Prefecture! I bought the JR East Nagano pass, but ended up underutilizing it since most of the train or bus lines were not JR. Don't make my mistake!
Still, it snowed throughout my trip, making Nagano a wintery wonderland. There were barely any tourists, just lots of quiet nature and snow. I loved it.
