Beginning around 8,000 years ago many of the hunter-gatherer populations in Kentucky became less mobile, making use of wetland and riverine resources, using new types of tools, and burying their dead in midden cemeteries. These cultural changes are what archaeologists use to define the Middle Archaic period. During this time people were making side notched projectile points, which I replicate in this video. Watch to learn about this time period in Kentucky's prehistory and see how a Middle Archaic Godar projectile point is made.
