First Pilot Trial For Electric Harbour Craft Charging Point at Marina South Pier

#MPA has successfully launched the first pilot trial for #electric harbour craft (e-HC) charging infrastructure today, with the deployment of a new e-HC #charging point at Marina South Pier. 🔋⚡️

The charging point was awarded to the Pyxis Energy Pte Ltd, Pyxis Maritime Pte Ltd, and SP Group Mobility Pte Ltd partnership, and includes a 150-kilowatt (kW) land-based Direct Current fast #charger with a Combined Charging System 2 connector. The charger can charge a 500 kWh #battery in around 3 hours and enables an operating range of about 50 nautical miles, or about 90 km. Users will just need to scan a QR code using the SP app and make the payment in-app, similar to users of electric vehicles (#EV).
 
This pilot aims to optimise the charging infrastructure and gather comprehensive data via insights from Pyxis’ fleet of e-HCs to contribute to the development of a national e-HC charging infrastructure masterplan, implementation plan, and national standards for e-HC charging infrastructure. This is an exciting step towards a wider adoption of e-HCs in Singapore, as well as the #decarbonisation of the maritime industry, as we aim for #sustainable maritime operations in Singapore in the near future.
