The biggest COVID-19 stories today:
New York City plans to reopen office-based jobs, real estate services, retail reopening, barber shops and hair salons in five upstate regions.
The World Health Organization says that COVID-19 may add to a rising issue of antibiotic resistance. The W.H.O is suggesting doctors avoid using antibiotic therapy or prophylaxis in patients with mild cases of COVID-19, unless there is a clear reason to do so.
Hong Kong is extending its ban on social gatherings of over eight people after finding some local transmission of COVID-19 cases.
Japan’s professional baseball players across the country are back on the field, practicing for an upcoming match in June. Safety precautions are being taken, although it appears most players are not wearing masks.
From June 10th, South Koreans will need to show a QR code on their phones before entering entertainment facilities. The QR codes are South Korea’s latest effort in trying to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
A Romanian shoemaker has designed long-nosed leather shoes that are about 1.5 metres long, to help people with social distancing.
