I watched Weathering With You in theaters a few months ago and it honestly blew me away. Some people thought it was an inferior version of Your Name, others thought it was better than Your Name. I can't really decide and I don't think it's fair to compare the two. Even though they have similar stories, I think the settings and the premise makes them feel still very distinct from one another. I will say, however, I like the animation and music way more in Weathering With You. Some of the shots in the film were absolutely breathtaking and were giving me mad chills. Radwimps' score also improved from Your Name in my opinion. It sounds like they took a more film score approach rather than just writing songs, and even though there's nothing wrong with song scores, this just fits the film a lot better. If you haven't yet seen Weathering With You, I'm not sure when and where it'll be available again, but definitely give it a watch when you can!

I stuck pretty close to the original arrangement for this cover. The biggest changes were instead of using strings, I took a more guitar focused approach. They used live strings in the original and I only have samples so there's no way I can compete with that haha so I turned the last instrumental climax into a guitar solo, and for the interlude before the second verse, I took inspiration from a band called Polyphia that does these hybrid picked chord melodies. And of course big thanks to Matteo for singing on this! He has a channel where he covers anime songs in Italian, and he's a very talented musician as well, so please go check out his music!
