The "dump" that they didn't say was a dump. The former Fenimore landfill site was dormant for decades. It had become an open field of mature trees and brush.
NJ DEP allowed a convicted felon to buy the property to "properly close" it and build a fantastical solar farm. We all knew it was a scam. Residents fought it, but as they say "you can't fight city all" (because they were in on the plan).
In the "closing" process, materials were brought in that were deemed toxic. The convicted felon operator went to jail and NJ taxpayers are paying millions to remediate the site. The "burner" is burning off toxic gasses, and has been for many years now, which are filtered into water, which then becomes toxic, and is hauled out in the big red containers.
