This rarely recorded transcription of Mendelssohn’s Lieder ohne Worte No. 3, often referred to as “Consolation,” brings a fresh sense of intimacy and lyrical depth to one of his most beloved melodies. Originally composed for solo piano, the piece takes on a new dimension in this piano trio version, allowing the voices of violin, cello, and piano to intertwine with warmth and grace.

Part of The Mendelssohn Legacy, a double album dedicated to the complete piano trios of Felix and Fanny Mendelssohn, this track reflects the essence of Trio Zadig’s artistic vision: to explore repertoire that is both deeply rooted in tradition and full of living emotion.
