I was trying not to buy books this year (after all, every book I buy is one I have to read to complete this dumb challenge), but it happened anyway, and it was absolutely worth it for this one. This is a beautiful essay-collection-as-memoir that left me both completely satisfied, and also wanting more, somehow. This felt like something completely new that also should have existed for forever. Wonderful.
