Sanctify the space before beginning the practice; ideally chanting is best done in a clean environment, wear comfortable clothing, close eyes with hands in lap, slow down the breath and sit with spine erect if possible, otherwise in a meditative posture that is most comfortable.
Anulom Vilom Pranayama - Is a powerful breathing practice and is about balancing the two opposing flows - inhaling through one nostril and exhaling through the other in a rhythmic manner.
Some of the benefits of Anulom Vilom Pranayama are - the balancing of the two channels ida and pingala or the moon and sun energy channels, clearing mental fog and anxiety. It has the effect of boosting lung function and leads to the gradual awakening of the central or Sushumna channel that brings about higher states of awareness.
