Get-Set-Go! DRDO successfully conducts maiden flight test of 120 Km strike range Pinaka rockets

Maiden flight test of Pinaka LRGR 120 was successfully conducted at the Integrated Test Range in Chandipur, Odisha. The maiden trial of the 120 km range rocket coincided with its project clearance by the Defence Acquisition Council. The rocket was tested for its full 120 km range and performed all planned in flight manoeuvres with high accuracy. LRGR impacted the designated target with textbook precision as all range instruments tracked the entire trajectory. The rocket is designed by DRDO labs including ARDE and HEMRL with support from DRDL and RCI Hyderabad. The successful trial was coordinated by ITR Chandipur along with Proof and Experimental Establishment teams. LRGR was launched from the in service Pinaka launcher proving multi range rocket capability from same platform. Known for its rapid response, precision, Pinaka system enhances Indian Army's capability in modern warfare. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh termed the successful long range guided rocket development a major game changer. DRDO Chairman Samir V Kamat congratulated all the teams for accomplishing the mission objectives. Pinaka has emerged as a strong export success, with Armenia buying it, many European nations keenly interested.
