This harp improvisation comes from the adage, "Still waters run deep." Interestingly, the meaning of the saying means different things to different people. My intended meaning of this piece of music is twofold. Beneath the stillness lies much movement, and above the movement, there is stillness. Knowing this, the video is meant to convey these meanings.
My Haden Institute cohort and my mentor, Shawn K. inspired this piece and video. We have journeyed these past two years together in the spiritual direction certification program. I am grateful for this time and for the opportunity to share my original music as we celebrate our graduation from the program on Sunday, January 21, 2024.
