Current USA Satellite Freshwater LED+ Review

So I am doing this a little earlier than I usually would, but I think in this case its justified. So I am some what conflicted on this product. The first problem is that its one of those fixtures that uses a ton of LEDs on it rather than some strategically placed diodes and lenses. The company also doesn't give us any information about the actual LEDs or diodes which is another red flag. I do however like how they do the outside of it or the shell, its a design becoming increasingly popular.

Now the bulk of the review is about the features, and by features I mean the control. The BIGGEST problem with this fixture is there is no way to hook a timer up to it to control the weather patterns. Making the majority of the features useless and this fixture really being more of a novelty. Thats really the word that sums this fixture up, novelty. It does however, work, it will grow plants (at least in smaller tanks), and I haven't had a problem with it.

Heres a link to Currents statements about timers, basically like I said in the video, there are none that will work with this fixture, except for your standard wall timer to date. This is straight from the manufacturer not second hand information.

Its cheap, it works, and its reliable, so if you just want a cheap LED fixture, then this could be the one for you. Don't buy it because of the features though, other than being useless, the actual weather patterns are lack luster. Though I still don't suggest this over a cheap T-5 setup for planted tanks.
