Making the World's Ugliest Friction Folder (Knife) hey, it's just a prototype

Here's how to make the ugliest friction knife in the world. Why would you want to do that? Well, maybe you wouldn't, but for me it's all part of the process of prototyping.

Here I'm learning an entirely new knifemaking skill and one that's quite a bit more complicated than some of my early blacksmithing or bladesmithing projects.

In this video I'll take you through the whole blundering process from picking out the right materials (should I use steel, wood, kydex, what?) to finally peening in the pivot and sharpening the blade (heat treated or not) till it cuts paper like a champ. Enjoy!
