Get ready to dive into Florida’s ultimate mountain biking destination—The Vortex! Part of the Santos MTB trail system in Ocala, Florida, this black diamond trail is not just another ride; it’s an adventure packed with technical challenges, massive drops, and unforgettable thrills. 🚵‍♂️

In this video, I’ll take you through the full Vortex experience, starting with a scenic drive to the trailhead parking lot. From there, we’ll explore the warm-up jump section, get a glimpse of the infamous Indigo Flow, and dive headfirst into the legendary Vortex loop. With its brutal wall climbs, unexpected drops, tight turns, and unpredictable terrain—think roots, sand, pine needles, and more—this trail has earned its spot as the most technical in the state.
Plus, we’ll hit the pit, home to some of Florida’s biggest drops, including my attempts at Drop #1 and #2. Whether you’re a seasoned rider or just curious about the thrill, the Vortex has something to inspire and challenge every MTB enthusiast.
