Shepherd Center's New Technology Committee is gathering feedback from therapists and patients about several new robotic and computer-assisted therapeutic technologies available from Tyromotion (see tyromotion.com/en). Based on the committee's recommendations, the hospital uses funds given by generous donors to purchase new therapeutic equipment, such as the Amadeo and Diego technologies demonstrated with Shepherd Center therapists in this video. These technologies provide upper-extremity assessments and therapy to people with brain or spinal cord injuries, multiple sclerosis or other conditions that impair upper-extremity function. Tyromotion also demonstrated its Pablo and Tymo devices, which can help improve trunk control and balance.
