hi everyone I'm Garrett with zip scanners where we make skinning easy today we're gonna do an intro video on the unden SDS200 and the first thing we're going to show you is the first thing that you do when you take the scanner out of the box and power it up which is set the time and date I already have it set up as you can see but for whatever reason you want to change the time and date I'll show you where so we're gonna go to menu down to settings and set clock set date time time zone time zone is probably the most pertinent out of all of this but I'm at 6:00 and there's also a daylight savings feature and I'm gonna set that and before I show you anything else we've been getting a lot of questions on where to locate the ESN or electronic serial number on both the SDS100 and the SDS200 and since these are fraternal twins with nearly identical interfaces and inner workings this portion will apply to both scanners so we're going to kill two birds with one stone and we'll go to menu and we'll go all the way to settings and at the bottom it'll say see scanner information and we'll go it's your firmware version and there it is right here and if you're setting up provoice DMR and NXDN any of those upgrades the only numbers that matter come after six and the three-digit checksum number right here and I would do a side-by-side comparison of the SDS100 and 200 at some point I will but for now I'm just going to show you some of the similarities and a couple differences first I'll show you some display options and the only real difference between the SDS100 and 200 here is the set black and white so right now I have a black background with white text I'll change that to white background with black text and there's the difference so I'll go back and you can customize the colors set simple conventional and right you see I already changed the background of system name you can do that for department names text color it doesn't really matter to me right now well whatever makes sense to you as far as color coding and next I'll show you some location settings so go to menu you'll be the fourth one down set your location enter zip code the US five five 402 do you know just like the SDS100 a load the database of Minnesota and part of Wisconsin let that load through so I got my seven County area just like I would on my 100 and I'll go back how to locate would be if I weren't surrounded by concrete and I had an antenna I could get my exact location using auto locate same with manual location that's set up when latitude and longitude set up GPS I have a separate video for setting up the GPS on the SDS200 and I'll link to that it'll be up here and set your range and since I'm getting a lot of frequencies for Minnesota and Wisconsin I'll set the range a little bit slimmer I'm at 10 I'll go five little narrow the range a little bit and you can edit your location and save your location here and those are just some of the similarities and differences on the SDS100 and 200 not a comparison video but they're set up very similarly so why not hit the like if you like and please subscribe to learn more I'm Garrett from zip scanners where we make scanning easy we're open seven days a week you can call us at seven three seven seven seven seven nine eight seven six with free shipping no taxes and lifetime technical support from experts like me thanks
