I know I am a bit late to the beginning of December, but here is a new score video of one of the most famous Christmas festive music of all time: the Messiah by George Frideric Handel!
I had the great opportunity, along with my classmates from the UST Conservatory of Music, to perform this (Hallelujah Chorus) at their Christmas Concert of 2025, and this score video is an appreciation post thanking my classmates, and the other musical forces that participated in this concert.
I chose the score of the German-language arrangement of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, since that arrangement was the one played at the concert. English lyrics of the original Handel version are displayed below the sheet music in blue text.
Aside from the Hallelujah Chorus, I also chose the three previous numbers that came before it, to show a contextual fraction of the final four numbers of the second part. The last four numbers of Part II, Nos. 29-32 (actually Nos. 40-44 in the Handel version), covers the scenes of the world's rejection of the Gospel and God's ultimate victory. Although the end of Part II is not the overall climax of the whole oratorio, it is a strong message of the victory of God through His begotten Son, Jesus Christ.
