洛阳市（汉语拼音：Luòyáng，邮政式拼音：Loyang）是中华人民共和国河南省下辖的地级市，河南省及中原城市群的副中心城市，是河洛文化和华夏文明的发源地。有十三个正统朝代[1]和二十多个政权将洛阳设为文化、经济、行政中心，拥有5000多年文明史、4000多年建城史和1500多年建都史，是中国历史上建都最早、朝代最多、历时最长的城市。洛阳也是隋唐大运河的中心城市和丝绸之路的东方起点。。

洛阳有三项六处世界文化遗产和四项五处5A级景区，是首批经中国国务院批准的享有地方立法权的13个较大的市之一，重要的工业城市和优秀旅游城市，也是首批中国创新型试点城市，中原经济区和中原城市群的副中心城市。洛阳全境总面积15,230平方公里，现下辖七县七区。2019年，全市常驻人口692.22万人，居民以汉族为主，母语为中原官话洛嵩片洛阳话。

Luoyang is a city located in the confluence area of Luo River and Yellow River in the west of Henan province. Governed as a prefecture-level city, it borders the provincial capital of Zhengzhou to the east, Pingdingshan to the southeast, Nanyang to the south, Sanmenxia to the west, Jiyuan to the north, and Jiaozuo to the northeast. As of December 31, 2018, Luoyang had a population of 6,888,500 inhabitants with 2,751,400 people living in the built-up (or metro) area made of the city's five out of six urban districts (except the Jili District not continuously urbanized) and Yanshy county, now being conurbated.

Situated on the central plain of China, Luoyang is among the oldest cities in China and one of the cradles of Chinese civilization. It is also one of the Four Great Ancient Capitals of China and the earliest of the four.
