The RIEDEL BMR (Background Media Recorder) application is an easy-to-use solution designed to simplify streaming and file creation from your Simply Live server. BMR allows you to stream media via IP to web destinations or send ISO cameras and recorded program sources to a file destination. It supports both high-res and/or low-res H.264 with various wrapper options.
This overview will walk you through the operational and workflow aspects of the BMR UI.

Overview & Purpose: The BMR application's primary use is to stream media to IP or web destinations or send recorded sources to a file destination.
UI Layout & Target Destinations: The layout displays all available recorded channels (including individual cameras and program outputs). The target area displays up to ten destinations, which can be an IP stream or a stream to a folder destination. [00:00:36]
Streaming to File Options: When streaming to a file, you have options for high res (DMX or XDCAM) and/or low res H.264 with different wrappers. [00:01:18]
Start/Stop Controls: The ability to start and stop recording globally or per source. The key difference between "stop" (waits until the stream reaches the stop point) and "stop now" (immediately stops the activity). [00:01:36]
Configuration Settings: Defining individual or global stream preferences, including audio presets, embedding a logo on the stream, setting compression/encoding values, and choosing the H.264 wrapper (MP4, TTS, or MOV). [00:02:20]
