Unfortunately sunshine was in short supply over the final weekend (May 6th & 7th) of the NYMR's 175 celebration Gala. However; we made the most of our two-day stay which included a rich combination of good food and Ale, stunning scenery, and of course the delights of steam. Friday's running was pretty much dedicated to the Black 5s which is why they feature heavily in this montage. Saturday's shots were completely random as we chose to let the train take the strain and travel the line. Locomotives featured in this sequence:- Black 5s; 44767 'George Stephenson', 44871, 45212, 45407 'The Lancashire Fusilier', 45428 'Eric Treacy'. GWR 56xx 6619; LNER A4 'Sir Nigel Gresley', BR 4MT 76079 (masquerading as 76084), 9F 92214 'Cock O' The North'.
