It's not every day you see a rubbish truck still working this late in the afternoon, but at 4pm and with nothing better to do, I thought I'd capture this video while I had a chance.
The driver, a friendly and familiar face to several of my videos, was in the process of emptying this on-call cardboard recycling bin. I sure hope the driver has not been working since the early hours of the morning as he often done because by this time it would have been a horribly long day for him. But as they say, the bins don't flip themselves. Keep up the good work!
The Waste Management branded truck in this video is a 2018 HINO 500 and was first registered in New Zealand in February 2018. On average it travels 111km/day or around 50,000km per year.
Thank you once again to the driver for letting me film this, I'm sure it won't be the last time our paths cross.
