Country Day School Second Grade Wax Museum 2023

Highlights of the 2023 Second Grade Wax Museum at Shady Side Academy Country Day School, held on May 25, 2023. Students dressed as famous historic and contemporary people and posed as wax figures in a museum, and visitors pushed a button to make each figure come to life and give a speech about themselves. The Wax Museum is an interdisciplinary project that ties into the second grade Biography Writing unit. Students select and read a biography from the library, research the person's life, write and memorize a speech, design a costume, create a poster exhibit and present "museum-style" for family and friends. Great job, second grade!
