SESSION FOUR - August 2025 - Level 1 Online - Whiskey & Skye - Parelli Natural Horsemanship

PARELLI NATURAL HORSEMANSHIP - LEVEL ONE STUDENT



I am re-starting my Parelli student journey after a 13 year break from horses. I have decided to record my progress with "Whiskey" - a 6 year old Paint, who is very spooky and skeptical since having some little scares when his previous owners were away. He is responding amazing to the Online level one games, but is yet to accept a rider again. I am not ready to ride him and he is not ready to accept a rider - let alone me. (Old and heavy)

Today we focused on revisiting some skills we knew, as well as introducing the "Plastic Bag" - this is a form of Extreme Friendly Game. We used "Rhythm, Repetition and Relaxation" as well as "Retreat & Approach". He began very skeptical with the bag, but in the end, accepted it being rubbed on him and gained the confidence to eat carrots off it.
